Job Description Senior O&M Technicians – Solar HV Leap29 are recruiting for Senior Technician and Technicians for solar sites in Yorkshire, Huddersfield, Warwickshire, Nottingham and Buckinghamshire. These professionals will join the O&M team in the UK. Job Overview: As part of your role, you will: Actively engage in all Operations & Maintenance (O&M) tasks related to improving and maintaining LV and HV electrical networks across various sites. Manage and assist in the execution of maintenance activities, ensuring they are completed efficiently. Ensure compliance with the company’s Electrical Safety Rules (ESRs). Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance as well as unscheduled corrective maintenance tasks. Maintain detailed records and logs of both scheduled and unscheduled HV/LV maintenance activities, whether carried out by yourself or other contractors. Develop in-house Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) for scheduled LV works. Ensure electrical safety standards are upheld during LV and other electrical operations. Contribute to the development of new maintenance procedures when needed. Identify the necessary resources, subcontractors, or suppliers to support maintenance activities, as required. Oversee contractor activities to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of maintenance tasks on-site. Handle administrative tasks including labor returns, timesheets, expenses, and material allocations. Collaborate with the operational management team and site operatives on daily operational issues. Perform Electrical Site Technician duties on-site, working on DC and LV systems, diagnosing any electrical issues as they arise. Submit LV switching schedules in line with pre-agreed project timelines. Promote a positive health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) culture and suggest improvements for ongoing development. Identify opportunities for process improvements and training needs, reporting your findings to senior management. What You Bring: A solid background in Electrical Engineering. At least 3 years of experience as a field technician in PV Solar or BESS projects. Qualified Electrician with strong mechanical knowledge. Proficiency in electrical systems design and solar energy connections. Completion of an industry-recognized HV AP course (HV AP 2/ AP3 Authorization). Experience with test equipment, fault finding, VLF testing, and insulation resistance testing. Knowledge of renewable energy installations, including O&M and construction.
