JOB TITLE: Chief Commercial Officer

THE ROLE
We are seeking an exceptional Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead our Commercial Department and be part of the club’s senior leadership team. The CCO will take ownership of all revenue-generating areas (with the exception of player trading) ensuring the club is commercially strong, achieving sustainable and profitable growth, and positioned for continued success on and off the pitch.
From sponsorships and partnerships to ticketing, hospitality, retail, membership, events, and commercial operations, this role will be at the heart of our club’s financial future. Working closely with and alongside the Chief Communications & Marketing Officer, the CCO will also play a vital role in brand growth and supporting the media strategy across owned and operated channels and platforms and earned media.
The CCO is responsible for leading and delivering a high-performing commercial strategy that maximises profitable revenue, strengthens relationships with partners, and enhances the club’s global commercial footprint.
The CCO will drive improvements through the deployment of world-class strategic commercial frameworks and operating models, fan and business data, and effective use of digital technology and services.
This role demands a leader who takes pride in delivering excellence, who is willing to take responsibility for commercial performance, and who puts the club first in every negotiation, deal, business decision and delivers flawless execution in every area.
The CCO will drive innovation across sponsorship, ticketing, retail, hospitality, MyGers Membership, New Edmiston House, catering contracts, and other revenue-generating operations, ensuring that Rangers continues to thrive financially while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ambition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving Commercial Growth
* Develop and execute a bold, ambitious commercial strategy that maximises revenue across all key areas.
* Take ownership of commercial targets, ensuring the club’s financial health is strengthened year on year.
* Identify and capitalise on new revenue opportunities, ensuring Rangers is at the forefront of commercial innovation.
* Maintain the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and strategic thinking in all commercial activities.
Leadership & Collaboration
* Inspire and develop a high-performing commercial team, ensuring a culture of ambition, excellence, and accountability.
* Collaborate closely with football, operations, and executive leadership to align commercial objectives with club strategy.
* Represent Rangers in the industry ensuring our commercial strength and reputation continues to grow.
* Build a structured planning, reporting and approval process that supports decision-making and ownership of targets throughout the department.
Sponsorship & Partnerships
* Secure and manage top-tier sponsorship deals and partnerships that align with Rangers’ brand and values.
* Build strong relationships with existing and prospective partners, ensuring long-term collaboration and mutual success.
* Develop innovative commercial partnership models, leveraging digital assets, global reach, and the club’s heritage.
* Ensure all partnerships reflect the prestige of Rangers, and ensure we are recognised and respected as one of the world’s leading clubs.
Ticketing, Hospitality & Membership
* Oversee ticketing and hospitality strategies, ensuring accessibility, sustainability, and revenue growth.
* Take ownership of premium seating and corporate hospitality offerings, creating world-class experiences.
* Lead the growth of MyGers Membership scheme, ensuring it delivers value, connection, and loyalty for supporters.
* Optimise ticketing operations to ensure a seamless purchasing experience, fair access to high demand matches, and efficient stadium entry, while maximising revenue and fan satisfaction.
* Work closely with Marketing and Communications teams to build and approve pricing and product plans and ensure ticketing and hospitality strategies align with supporter needs.
Retail, Merchandising & Licensing
* Lead the development of retail and merchandising strategies, ensuring Rangers continues to grow its retail business.
* Drive strong sales performance across club retail stores, e-commerce platforms, and licensed products.
* Identify and execute new licensing opportunities, supporting brand and commercial development.
Pre-Season & Friendly Matches
* Lead the commercial planning and execution of friendly matches, and the Rangers Legends match programme, ensuring optimal revenue generation which aligns with football preparations.
* Negotiate sponsorship and media rights deals to enhance commercial returns and global brand exposure.
New Edmiston House, Catering & Commercial Operations
* Maximise the commercial potential of Edmiston House, developing it as a key revenue-generating venue.
* Oversee concerts, conferences, and non-matchday events, ensuring consistent financial success.
* Lead the strategic management of the club’s catering contract, optimising service quality and revenue.
* Own the performance of all commercial operations, ensuring efficiency, innovation, and long-term profitability.
Media, Rangers TV & Brand Growth
* Work closely with the Chief Communications & Marketing Officer to expand Rangers’ global brand presence.
* Support the club’s media strategy – managed and delivered by the Communications & Marketing team - ensuring commercial growth through owned and operated platforms.
* Explore new opportunities in media rights, content monetisation, and digital sponsorships.
* Ensure Rangers remains at the forefront of football’s evolving commercial and media landscape.
THE CANDIDATE
The candidate attributes include:
* A proven track record in senior commercial leadership within world class sport, entertainment or media organisations, or a global brand where sport and entertainment are a vital and successful element of the business.
* Extensive experience in sponsorship sales, partnership management, ticketing, hospitality, retail, and event management.
* Deep understanding of stadium operations, venue management, and commercial contracts.
* Experience in digital monetisation, media strategy, and global brand expansion.
* Track record of taking responsibility for commercial performance, ensuring revenue targets are met and exceeded.
* Deep knowledge of revenue-generation models, financial sustainability, and global growth.
* Track record of securing high-value sponsorships and commercial partnerships.
* Ability to create and execute a long-term plan for commercial success.
* A strong leader who can motivate teams, build relationships, and drive results.
