The position involves caring for a 60-year-old female wheelchair user in a semi-rural setting, residing in a small, clean 2-bedroom bungalow. Currently, there are no pets, and there is a small garden.
We can assist you in becoming self-employed if you are not already.
Responsibilities include:
1. Assisting with all usual care needs
2. Meal preparation
3. Medication preparation
4. House cleaning
5. Running errands
Trips out or appointments may be required, including phone calls, errands, shopping (online shopping included), and basic gardening tasks such as weeding and picking up prescriptions.
Requirements:
1. Some experience may be advantageous
2. Good memory
3. Good cooking skills
4. Kind nature with a positive outlook
5. Must have own car
6. Non-smoker/non-vaper
7. Good availability/flexibility to cover extra days and night shifts for other employees' sickness and holidays at short notice (a second job may not be compatible with this position)
Spirituality may be an advantage.
This position offers an opportunity to earn around £30,000 - £31,000 flat rate if you work a permanent 48-hour shift every week. You will earn extra for covering sickness and holidays. We have a team of 3-4 carers. The rate covers a waking night; however, currently, support may be needed mostly through the night due to medications. Be prepared to support as required overnight.
Breaks of 10 hours are to be taken over the 48-hour shifts or 5 hours over the 24-hour shift, usually taken as a block during the night at the employer's discretion.
