Bars Assistant Manager The Groucho Club is looking for an experienced Bar Assistant Manager to help our bar Manager oversee the Bar department. The Bar Assistant Manager needs to have proactive energy, a positive can-do attitude and friendly personality alongside all the other skills that make you a top employee. Why is this so important? Service Orientation Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment providing service for all members and instructing the bar staff of their duties and responsibilities where necessary; Oversee that members and guests are greeted by the bar team; Leading by example by providing excellent customer service to both members and guests and ensuring that the bar team are exhibiting the same behaviour; Familiarisation of members, their regular requests and likes/dislikes and educating the team with this; Maintains an energetic presence and displays a high level of enthusiasm; Encourages bar staff to build relationships with members and guests; Understand and educate bar staff and members on the food menu, drinks and wine list; Assisting with preparing and serving beverages / bar food to members and guests when necessary; Steer ancillary revenues by recommending our other products to guests and members. Operations Oversee and manage the smooth running of the bar team within the Club; Provide staff briefings and instructions regarding the upcoming service for the day / evening; Consistently ensure that all daily tasks, including both opening and closing tasks are completed. Ensure that daily cleaning schedule is adhered to and the bar areas are kept clean at all times; Involvement in the creation of new cocktail, drinks and bar food menus; Attending and participating in scheduled team or shift meetings; Check all bars are setup properly to ensure an efficient, tidy and organised bar at all times. Leadership Assist the Bar Manager in training new bartenders, cocktail waitress / waiter and barbacks and set expectation of the Club; Training new members of the bar team on cashing up and closing procedures, maintaining a professional approach to managing the bar and the bar team; Assist the Bar Manager with staff appraisals and productive staff feedback; Collaboratively assistants other departments and bars where necessary; Demonstrates effective time management skills; Effectively prioritizes business needs; Maintains a confident and/or commanding floor presence; Inspires team to follow. Communication Liaise with the kitchen, event, restaurant and Duty Managers as required throughout the day; Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication; Communicates professionally with diplomacy and tact; Communicates effectively with peers and management team; Practices effective active listening techniques; Able to deliver consistent message that motivates and inspires; Communicates team needs to Bar Manager and Head Chef.
