Regional Loss Prevention Manager
About the Role
We are looking to appoint a commercially minded Retail Loss Prevention professional, who is passionate about preventing loss.
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as a Regional Loss Prevention Manager. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the safety and welfare of our retail colleagues supporting 60+ Stores and oversight of £100+ million in stock holding. You will lead a team of loss prevention colleagues across either our North, Midland or South regions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Working proactively and collaboratively with retail management teams you will help to ensure our stores feel like safe and secure places to work and shop
2. Developing and implementing loss prevention strategies at both local and national levels.
3. Managing and coaching a field-based team, ensuring resource allocation is evidence-based and risk-focused.
4. Mitigating operational loss, external threats, and violence, while providing out-of-hours support as needed.
5. Utilising various business information systems and analytics tools to shape and drive the regional loss prevention strategy.
6. Effectively driving shrinkage reduction initiatives; Influencing, supporting, motivating and training to increase compliance.
7. Specifying and monitoring the effectiveness of physical security equipment
8. Overseeing complex and sensitive investigations, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
9. Managing trials and projects aimed at continual improvement and returns on investment.
10. Innovating to combat evolving threats such as burglary, violence, and terrorism.
11. Liaise with stakeholders across the company, to ensure you are reducing risk of loss.
12. Work closely with the teams in store and build strong relationships with local police.
13. Collaborating with law enforcement and industry peers to share best practices and reduce retail-based crime.
This role demands flexibility, as you may need to travel within the business estate and respond to calls outside normal business hours, particularly during, sales events, peak trading periods and other critical times.
About You
To excel in this role, you will need:
14. Extensive experience in retail and security management.
15. Proven ability to develop and implement effective security strategies.
16. In-depth knowledge of investigation practices and relevant legislation (e.g. PACE, GDPR, etc).
17. Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, use initiative, and plan effectively.
18. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and engage audiences at all levels.
19. A flexible and adaptable approach, capable of working under pressure and managing multiple priorities.
20. A high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Criteria:
Essential:
21. Retail Loss Prevention Management experience at an area or regional level.
22. A comprehensive understanding of employment and criminal law.
23. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
24. Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written.
25. Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
26. Ability to provide support and advise out of hours and during peak periods.
27. A full driving licence.
Desirable:
28. Previous supervisory or managerial experience of a remote team.
29. Experience in an internal/external investigative role.
30. Wicklander Zulawski certification in investigation techniques (or equivalent).
31. Experience working with regulatory bodies, law enforcement, and various stakeholders.
32. Previous budget management responsibility.
33. Ability to travel extensively and represent the business at national level when required.
