The Milton Keynes College Prison Services Team at HMP Downview is seeking innovative Teachers/Tutors to deliver to a diverse group of learners, helping to build their confidence, develop their skills, and achieve within a college environment. We are looking for candidates interested in variable/ad-hoc hours, who are keen to explore Prison Education.
HMP Downview is currently looking for individuals with one or more of the below skillsets to support their curriculum delivery. A teaching qualification would be desirable; however, those willing to work towards a teaching qualification who hold supporting subject specialism or industry experience will also be considered. We can provide the training to help you achieve your full potential.
Prison education runs all year-round, all-day Monday-Thursday and until lunchtime on a Friday. Delivery hours vary slightly from prison to prison, but full days are split across two long lessons (Morning and Afternoon). Occasional requirements can vary and change frequently, so flexible availability is essential. Requirements can range from short notice, short-term cover to longer-term sickness cover or recruitment gaps and anything in between.
