Bury Council is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Lawyer to play a key role in our legal team. You will lead on a range of contractual matters, advise on procurement, and act as the Council’s primary contact for contract transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Draft and review contracts, grant funding agreements, framework agreements, and service level agreements.
* Provide expert legal advice on procurement and guide the Council through the new procurement regime.
* Deliver high-quality legal support to Officers and Members.
* Attend Council Committees, working groups, and briefings, including some evening meetings.
* Supervise and support Legal Assistants.
About You:
* A qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with commercial law experience.
* Skilled in contract and procurement law (public sector experience is an advantage).
* A strong negotiator and communicator with excellent drafting skills.
* Capable of managing a diverse caseload and high-profile projects.
