Description Job Description Are you interested in a varied role that involves strong people management, delivery and the opportunity to lead a team? Transport Scotland are looking for someone who can demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills to join the Roads Operations team and manage the work of the Scottish Safety Camera Programme Office. Based in the Head of the Scottish Safety Camera Programme Office, which is responsible for day-to-day management of the Safety Camera Programme Office, its £7.5 million budget and its relationships with Transport Scotland, wider SG, Police Scotland and other relevant stakeholders, you will lead the Scottish Safety Camera Programme Office, liaising with stakeholders including Police Scotland, the Safety Camera Units, Ministers and other stakeholders, manage the Grant funding for the Units and ensure their work contributes to the Scottish Government’s 2030 casualty reduction targets. The Programme Office liaises with Police and Safety Camera Unit colleagues across Scotland to ensure they play their part in the delivery of the Road Safety Framework targets to 2030. The Head of the Programme Office also supports TS senior managers and Ministers as appropriate, through briefings, advice and meetings. Transport Scotland Network Operations Unit is responsible for a number of main business areas including the Traffic Scotland Service, Transport Resilience, Scottish Camera Safety Programme, Trunk Road Casualty Reduction, Development Management and Operations Services. Responsibilities Liaising with senior Police colleagues around the development and delivery of proposals for the future geography of the programme (including the safety camera handbook) and advising Ministers and senior officials accordingly. Managing a budget of £7.5m, including monitoring adherence to the rules and guidance for the conduct of the local partnerships to claim funding that supports an efficient and effective service. Supporting wider policy objectives; health and active travel by improving the culture of safe speeds and improving the perception of safety. Overseeing the production of an annual statistical bulletin reporting on programme performance and briefing Minister and senior officials as required. Providing support to local partnerships, making decisions and adjudicating on interpretation of programme compliance. Overseeing the dedicated programme website providing public access to relevant information about the programme, local partnerships and camera locations across Scotland.
