Experienced / ambitious Project Manager required to manage the construction of a large £70M+ new build industrial development in Avonmouth on the outskirts of Bristol for a Tier 1 main contractor.
Reporting to the Project Director for the scheme, you will be responsible for managing all buildability aspects for the project through the preconstruction stage to the start on site in January next year and then the construction phase through to handover in 2026. You will lead your project team holding responsibility for construction methodology and programme of works, input to design development, and the smooth and timely progress of construction on site, plus safety and quality control, issue resolution, and delivery on programme.
This is a large and technically challenging five-storey steel-framed building for a key client, to provide cold storage and state-of-the-art automation.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The client is a large national main contractor with a turnover in excess of £900m, with secured workload in the industrial, commercial, education, and high spec residential sectors, and a strong cash position. Projects range in size from £40m to £100m+, secured through a mixture of national and regional frameworks, negotiated schemes with repeat clients, and competitive tenders. There is a future pipeline of work in the Bristol / South West area.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
You will ideally be an experienced and highly driven Project Manager with a proven track record within a major contracting organisation, able to deliver large scale design & build schemes up to £50m in value. Key attributes will include excellent leadership ability, project team management skills, technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus focus and drive.
High standards, attention to detail, and drive will be very well rewarded with an excellent salary, benefits, promotional and development prospects. Experience of delivering large steel-framed industrial schemes previously would be advantageous.
