Job overview
We have exciting opportunities for a Registered Nurse RMN to be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team working at our older adult inpatient ward based at Thurrock Community Hospital. Gloucester Ward inpatient facility provides care to older people, over the age of 65, suffering from mental health problems where admission to hospital is the only safe option.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation, and holistic assessment of patients with complex mental health nursing care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of inpatient treatment plans. The post holder will have completed preceptorship or will be required to complete their preceptorship and will work under the overall supervision of a Band 7 or 6 Supervisor. However, the post holder will regularly be required to work without direct supervision and will be designated to take charge of the unit in the absence of senior staff.

Education/Qualifications
* Completion of preceptorship
* Evidence of personal and professional development in contemporary mental health
Knowledge
* A sound knowledge of Mental Health Act
* Sound Risk Assessment skills
* Produce Personalised Care Plans in line with the Assessment and Risk Assessment.
* Good Physical Health knowledge and how it impacts on mental health
Skills/Experience
* Good oral communication skills based on fluency in the English language
* Competent in leading a shift prioritising, assessing, and managing risk
* Good understanding of Medication Management and the importance of accurate recording.
