We are delighted to be partnering with other health and social care providers in the new initiative HOPE HAVEN at Whitehaven.
We are looking for a GP to cover 2 x 6hr sessions per week, over 2 weeks in every 4. This will include some OOH evening and/or weekend work, based in Whitehaven.
Hope Haven will be open 24 hrs a day 7 days a week providing services under one roof to transform the way mental health care is provided locally. Hope Haven will bring together specialist health, social care and community services to support Mental Health and Wellbeing to the community.
The aim is to launch this service on a mobile basis as soon as possible.
We are looking for compassionate individuals with a desire to make a difference in the lives of individuals suffering with mental health and wellbeing needs. Knowledge and understanding of MH presentations is important along with flexibility and enhanced communication skills to work across different organisations, working as part of the new initiative and MDT.
These posts will be offered on a fixed term contract until March 2026 with hope of further extension past this date.

Main duties of the job
CNTW, Every Turn, Home Group and ICanWeCan along with other third sector providers to support individuals across Whitehaven and Copeland.
Cumbria Health will be providing the clinical workforce into this service offering the physical wrap around care to people attending other services here. This will include GP, ACP & HCA clinics for complex physical issues often associated with mental health presentations, prescribing needs following consultation with a mental health practitioner, medication reviews and bloods. We will also offer some group educational sessions on a variety of topics including Healthy Hearts, Menopause, NHS digital access for example.
This is a new and exciting, evolving service, and we want the successful candidates to be fully engaged in this service development.

Person Specification
Personal Circumstances
* Eligible to work in the UK.
* Personal Clinical Indemnity.
* Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
* Proven good attendance in previous employment.
* Flexibility to work in various locations with various systems/people.
* Ability to travel to meet the needs of the post.
* No history of professional misconduct as determined by the GMC.
* No current restrictions imposed by the GMC.
Qualifications
* Must be fully qualified Doctor with full GMC registration.
* Evidence of GP experience (certificate of prescribed and equivalent experience).
* Must be on Medical Performers List in England.
* Additional qualifications relevant to the provision of GMS/PMS services.
Experience
* Knowledge and use of IM & T systems.
* Experience in medical audit and clinical risk management.
* Working across boundaries - good communication skills, able to collaborate and co-operate in multi-agency working.
* Eligible to provide:
o a) CHS
o b) Maternity services
o c) Contraceptive services
o d) Evidence of continued
* Experience of providing clinical leadership in a GP practice environment.
