We are looking for an applicant who is enthusiastic, motivated, and energetic, with the appropriate experience to join our established team. You will provide direct care and support to adults who are autistic and have associated learning disabilities within the Community Inclusion Day Service.
We seek someone with a good understanding of the needs of autistic individuals and the ability to support those who may exhibit behaviours of concern. An understanding of the Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) principles is desirable.
The successful applicant will need to plan, deliver, and coordinate person-centred and creative support programmes with individuals to enhance their lives and learning. The applicant should demonstrate the ability to work within complex and rapidly changing environments, work creatively and independently, and support behaviours, taking active steps to help rectify and overcome them.
Minimum Requirements:
1. NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care and/or equivalent.
2. Good standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent.
3. Practitioner experience in Social Care working with individuals with Autism and Learning Disabilities.
4. Knowledge and understanding of a range of disability issues.
5. Understanding of the principles within Person Centred services.
6. Ability to exceed professional standards and act as a role model for newly qualified staff.
7. Effective teamwork skills and willingness to continuously develop personal skills and knowledge.
8. Ability to support and manage different behavioural needs. Flexibility to work a varied rota is required.
9. A full UK Driving License is desirable.
