Senior Modelling and Simulation Consultant Location(s): Bristol or Birmingham - 3/4 days a week onsite due to sensitivity of work. Clearance: The ideal candidate will currently hold the highest level of UK Government security clearance (UKSV/MoD). In this role, you'll support clients by analysing, assessing, and developing strategies to address some of the most pressing global challenges. Our client works on a wide range of projects, from specialised consultancy engagements to major, high-profile programs, ensuring you’ll always have new challenges to tackle. Role Overview Defining, leading, and contributing to a diverse array of evaluation and consulting projects. Developing complex system models to support decision-making for public and private sector clients. Utilising various modelling tools and techniques, including spreadsheet modelling, simulation, multi-criteria decision analysis, and qualitative/soft analysis methods. Engaging with clients to understand and refine their requirements. Partnering with the broader team to enhance our simulation, emulation, and digital twin capabilities. In addition to client facing work, you will be expected to contribute to preparation of new proposals, management of consultancy projects and supervision of teams. Your Experience/Skills Strong analytical, systems thinking and problem-solving skills. The ability to structure information, see and understand the ‘big picture’ and think about many things at once, as well as keeping track of the detail. The ability to define and execute a ‘Concept of Analysis’ (approach / plan) that meets customer needs, drawing on your awareness and practical experience of a range of simulation and modelling techniques. Experience in delivering presentations and directing workshops, pitching information at the right level of detail. A track record of effective liaison with clients and stakeholders. The ability to inspire small teams and work as part of a team in a working environment where there can be frequent change, uncertainty and ambiguity. Engineering, Science, or digitally focussed STEM-based education and or career. Experience using programming languages and scripting (i.e. Java, Python, VBA). Experience using, or understanding of COTS simulation, gaming products or specialist simulation tools: AnyLogic, Simul8, Simio etc. This is a business critical position and we are looking to arrange interviews ASAP.
