Product Manager
Salary: £50,000, Bristol BS34

This global manufacturing organisation offers the opportunity to join their established, friendly and successful team in Bristol as a Product Manager or Technical Manager, reporting to the Global Capture Leader also based in the Bristol site.
Responsibilities:
1. Construct product roadmap for Engineered Product lines, identifying product gaps and defining required developments to improve market share.
2. Understand customer value propositions and translate them into product developments.
3. Manage a portfolio of products.
4. Drive and support global launches of products internally within the business.
5. Develop product pricing and positioning strategies.
6. Build value proposition maps for current and new products.
7. Analyze technical trends from customer projects and react appropriately by defining required product development.
8. Occasional travel to customer sites in Europe and Asia may be required; flexibility and ability to travel abroad is essential.
Maintaining Product Roadmap:
1. Engage with the wider business and customers to understand product requirements.
2. Translate these into customer value propositions and then into development projects/plans, working with the Capture - Business Development Leadership team.
3. Build market cases for new product developments and encourage others to do so.
4. Translate analytics, data, and user feedback into actionable product plans.
5. Create strategic pricing for products.
Marketing:
1. Generate new product launch plans.
2. B2B expertise contributing to developing markets for products and identifying gaps in the market.
3. Work with Regional Marketing Leaders and business developers to create content in line with the value proposition.
4. Assess the quality of marketing material versus value proposition and feedback from business development/sales.
Product Lifecycle:
1. Analyze and provide strategic information to the business on margin, pricing regions, etc.
2. Analyze the ROI of new product developments, assessing performance versus business case.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:
1. Degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Technical discipline combined with Marketing or a technical sales background.
2. A Marketing or Business degree combined with expertise and qualifications in engineering and/or technical subject matter.
3. Project Management qualification is useful (or the desire to obtain one).
4. Analytical research skills including customer and market research.
5. B2B expertise working for an engineering manufacturer.
6. Relationship management skills.
7. Ability to distill complex organizational information into clear concepts for all stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
8. Aptitude to see the bigger picture and prioritize roadmap decisions while maintaining a connection with the team, the business, the customer, and the wider market.
Useful to Have:
1. Any working knowledge of foreign languages (e.g., German, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese) is of particular interest.
