We are looking for a Female bank Advanced Support Worker to support across our two services, based in Polmont and Camelon. In these services, we support a young man and a young lady who live in their own homes. The young man we support has complex needs, including a learning disability, Autism spectrum disorder and epilepsy and receives 2:1 support during the day and 1:1 support overnight. We provide support from 7.45am - 8.15pm and 7.45pm - 8.15am (waking night) The young lady we support has a mild learning disability and PTSD, which has led to her becoming non-speaking. We provide 1:1 support from 10am - 10am the next day, with a sleepover included. Having both recently moved into their homes, our teams continue to help them build fantastic lives, by providing support to source new activities in his community. We also provide support with:
•Medication administration
•Cooking and shopping
•Assisting with personal care
•Managing the home and finances of both individuals Due to the needs of the individuals we support, a UK driving license is required for this role. You don't have to have your own car, but you must be able to commute to Polmont and Camelon. Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For this particular role, a female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act Your values:
Respect, patience and understanding are key as the young man you'll be supporting is adjusting to his new home. It's important to take the time to understand him in order to support him to live a fantastic life as independently as possible.
Prior experience supporting individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviour is essential and we're looking for our Advanced Support Workers to share their knowledge and experience within the team.
Applicants with a SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care would be highly desirable.
