Package: £35,720 - £56,850 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

Let Us Introduce the Role
AWE is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join our Future Materials Campus (FMC) programme. This is a significant infrastructure project, renewing existing facilities and investing in new capabilities. There is a wide range of projects at various stages of the project cycle, from setting requirements to decommissioning.
As a key member of the Engineering Team, you will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects with a range of stakeholders to support our critical mission in keeping the Nation safe.
This will include supporting the Engineering Managers to provide facility designs, reviewing engineering requirements and preparing draft specifications and briefs.
Who are we looking for?
We do need you to have the following:
* Experience in managing construction projects: Proven track record in overseeing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
* Ability to work with a range of stakeholders: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members.
* Skills in reviewing engineering requirements and preparing specifications: Ability to analyse and interpret engineering requirements, and prepare detailed specifications and briefs that meet project needs.
* Strong communication and organizational skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
* Problem-solving abilities: Demonstrated ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement them effectively to ensure project success.
Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we’d like you to have experience in some of the following:
* Facility design: Experience in designing facilities, including layout planning, equipment selection, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
* Drafting specifications and briefs: Proficiency in creating comprehensive specifications and briefs that clearly outline project requirements and expectations.
* Supporting engineering managers: Experience in assisting engineering managers with project planning, resource allocation, and technical decision-making.
* Knowledge of construction standards and regulations: Familiarity with local and national construction standards, codes, and regulations to ensure compliance and safety.
* Technical proficiency: Strong technical skills, including the use of engineering software and tools for design, analysis, and project management.
You’ll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.

Hybrid working is available for this role on an informal, non-contractual basis. Typically 2/3 days onsite per week.
