SEMH Teaching Assistant - Psychology & Criminology Graduate Opportunity Location: Stevenage | Salary: £460-£500 per week Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (Mon-Fri, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm) Sector: Education and Training What You'll Be Doing: Provide 1:1 support or assist small groups of students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome challenges and unlock their potential. Collaborate with teachers and clinical teams to create an inclusive learning environment and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Support students' emotional, social, and academic development, using positive reinforcement and building confidence. Work alongside educators and parents to ensure each student receives the tailored support they need. Gain valuable, hands-on experience in a school setting, working directly with children who require additional support. What We're Looking For: A degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field. Experience in SEN is a plus but not essential. A passion for mental health, education, and working with children who have diverse needs, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties. A calm, empathetic, and patient nature with a commitment to supporting students' growth and development. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. A desire to pursue a career in the education, mental health, or social care sectors. Ideally located within a commutable distance to Stevenage. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but full training will be provided.
