Location: Office-based (Stretford) with the possibility of some remote working after probation

Salary Range: £40K-£50K + Bonus plan

Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the purpose of this role is to oversee the performance and success of the bar, retail sites and wholesale element of the business. With 7 direct reports, you will ensure all managers are trained and able to achieve great things within their area of the business, striving to achieve KPIs and having the ability to nurture and drive their individual teams to succeed. This role is also responsible for new business development and growing a profitable portfolio of stand-alone sites, in line with the desired speed of company growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial:
* Conduct market research to identify potential stand-alone sites for expansion.
* Develop comprehensive business plans for new sites, including financial projections.
* Monitor labour budgets vs target and work with site managers to ensure locations are staffed strategically to maintain service within labour budgets.
* Contribute to the performance strategy and therefore the success of the business
* Facilitate the project management of new openings by working alongside contractors and consultants to ensure the site is operational on time and within budget.
Sales:
* Work alongside the buyer, weighing in on product decisions and pricing.
* Ensure all wholesale accounts are happy with our service and being nurtured to the best of our ability. Checking that they have all the wines they need and that we are maintaining a strong relationship through the Sales and Account Manager.
* Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to support the sites with sales activations, campaigns and social media.
* Manage the Sales & Account Manager effectively and make sure they have all the training and tools to perform at their best, striving to gain more businesses that are in line with our company ambitions, responding to enquiries in good time.
* Identifying opportunities for increased sales through the addition or adjustment to product lines and collaborating with the buyer to facilitate.
* Oversee the corporate tasting side of the business ensuring it is being managed in a cost-effective way.
Operations:
* Oversee the Warehouse Team and support Warehouse Manager to streamline processes and maximise efficiency, ensure all stock is accounted for, stocktakes are completed in a timely manner and any discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
* Supporting the site managers to maintain high standards of service across the board and ensuring any feedback from mystery shopper visits is communicated and implemented efficiently.
* Oversee maintenance issues and get any larger costs signed off by the Director.
* Regularly monitor and evaluate the performance of bars, retail sites, and wholesale operations.
* Collaborate with managers to set targets, track progress, and implement corrective measures as needed, reporting on these to the senior team.
* Conduct regular site visits, assess performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and support to site managers.
* Conduct regular appraisals with each site manager to maintain consistent self-development, making sure each manager has the tools and knowledge to perform to their best ability.
* Ensure daily & weekly reporting is as per standards set.
* Seek to improve operational management systems, processes and best practices.
* Ensure Managers are trained, upskilled and developed in their roles.
* Conduct quarterly manager meetings to keep everyone up to date with relevant company information.
* Ensuring the in store experience is compliant with all training manuals and SOP’s.
* Collaborate with HR to oversee that exceptional customer experiences are being delivered on a consistent basis.
* Manage any performance issues and escalate to HR when necessary.

Ability to commute/relocate:
* Manchester M32 0ZH: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
* 3-5 years of relevant experience is desirable, support may be provided for the right candidate
* Wine qualifications highly desirable
* Hospitality/Retail experience essential
* Excellent communication skills to be able to communicate effectively between internal and external stakeholders
* Proven leadership skills
* Proven ability to drive business performance and achieve targets
* Proficiency using MS Excel and wider MS suite
* Experience using stock management systems
* Strong analytical and attention to detail skills
* Excellent project management ability
* UK Drivers license and own vehicle
