As a Adult Care Worker Apprentice at St Michaels care homes, you’ll help residents enjoy each day by making sure they get the quality care and support they deserve. You’ll assist with daily living, providing support and companionship – and sharing great moments and memories too.
Wage
£14,860 a year
£8.60 for the first year of the apprenticeship. On completing the 1st year of the apprenticeship they will get £11.44 Weekend working will see an extra £1 per hourly rate.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

As a Adult Care Worker, you could be doing anything from supporting residents with their food and drink and following care plans to ensuring that each of our residents has one-to-one time. It’s an opportunity to put your skills to meaningful use and develop your career.
You will need to have empathy, a can-do approach and excellent communication skills to join our caring team. If you have that, then you don’t need any specific care experience as we’ll provide all the training you need to thrive. Above all, you will have real compassion for all our residents to deliver the highest standard of care and support. We need someone who can work to a rota which could be any day during a 7day week.
Duties Include:
* To assist in the provision of high-quality care to service users and work as part of a team to achieve required standards
* To be involved in all other general activities of the Care Centre
* To be co-worker for a group of residents by liaising with families to ensure that the residents have adequate toiletries, personal cloth, their bedrooms is tidy, etc at all times
* To be an ambassador for the Company
* All mantuary training will be provided

Course contents
* Support individuals they are working with according to their personal care/support plan
* Ask for help from an appropriate person when not confident or skilled in any aspect of their role
* Provide individuals with information to enable them to have a choice about the way they are supported
* Encourage individuals to participate in the way their care and support is delivered
* Ensure the individual knows what they are agreeing to regarding the way in which they are supported

Your training plan
* You will work towards a Level 2 Adult Care Worker qualification during this apprenticeship, and we will support you all the way with giving you paid time to complete the work and also face to face guidance throughout with our own inhouse trainer who will support you though the whole process

Other requirements
If the Apprentice are aged between 16 – 18 and we successfully obtain grant funding and they fully complete the course they will receive £250 bonus at the end.
