Job Purpose:

Please note that with effect from 1 April, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30, and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30, per annum / £16.64 per hour)
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
Job purpose/about the role
To contribute to the fulfilment of the Council’s statutory responsibility in terms of Environmental Health Services. This will involve the uplift of stray dogs, the investigation of complaints concerning dog control, fouling and barking and the promotion of responsible dog ownership.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

The postholder is able to demonstrate:
2. Experience of handling and working with dogs
3. Ability to seize and detain stray dogs
4. Ability to write reports and keep accurate records
5. Ability to work to deadlines
