On 1 April 2019 Cwm Taf University Health Board changed its name to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board as it took responsibility for providing healthcare services for the people in the Bridgend County Borough area. Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB now provides primary, community, hospital, and mental health services to the 450,000 people living in three County Boroughs – Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, and Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Ideally situated between Wales’s capital city, Cardiff, to the south, the coastal town of Porthcawl to the west, and the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons to the north, we operate within a vibrant community, rich in history and heritage.
Services will continue to be delivered across a network of Community Clinics, Health Centres and Community Hospitals supported by three District General Hospitals, Princess of Wales hospital in Bridgend, Prince Charles hospital in Merthyr Tydfil, and Royal Glamorgan hospital in Llantrisant.

We are currently working Monday-Friday 07:30-22:00 and will be expanding with our move in May 2025. Specialties include General, Gynae, ENT, maxfax, Orthopaedics, urology, Pain and Community Dental Learning Disability.

An opportunity has arisen for motivated, registered nurses to join our busy team in the Day Surgery Unit section of the Operating Theatres team. This post will involve caring for Day Case patients from admission to discharge guided by the Day Surgery operational policy. The post holder will be required to work independently and autonomously to ensure patients care is given in a timely manner to ensure the nurse-led discharge is undertaken safely and efficiently to ensure patient flow is maintained throughout the unit.
This is a very demanding job as you may work in each area throughout the working day, so the successful candidate will have to have a flexible approach to work and adaptable to keep up with this ever changing environment. Physical demands include moving patients on trolleys from the unit to other areas within the hospital to ensure an effective and efficient service for patients. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
