XRC Robotics is looking for a Robotics Engineer to join our engineering team, working in an innovative, high-profile R&D environment. As a Robotics Engineer, you will be part of the development team responsible for the systems behind XRC Robotics' state-of-the-art robotic inspection and security solutions. You will contribute to several of the R&D projects currently underway at XRC Robotics, working alongside a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, electronics, and software engineers to further develop our current and future products.
A typical day as a Robotics Engineer may involve:
* Integrating Robot Operating System (ROS) into our projects for autonomy, data collection, mapping, control configurations, telemetry, and GUI development.
* Implementing AI-powered machine vision for hazard identification and automated decision-making.
* Designing and integrating hardware components such as sensor packages and power electronics.
* Developing communication systems using RC and fiber optic technologies for control and telemetry.
* Collaborating with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
* Utilizing continuous integration systems (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCi, GitLab CI/CD) to streamline development and deployment processes.
* Creating and maintaining monitoring dashboards using tools like Grafana.
* Working in a Scrum development team to deliver iterative and collaborative development.
* Documenting changes and developing updates to ensure systems reliability and efficiency.
Requirements:
What you need to succeed:
* At minimum, a bachelor's degree in robotics, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience in building and integrating ROS-based systems.
* Strong understanding of AI implementation and machine vision technologies.
* Expertise in hardware integration, including sensors and power electronics.
* Knowledge of RC and fiber optic communication systems.
* Experience in front-end development and integrating user interfaces with server-side logic.
* Familiarity with continuous integration systems (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI/CD).
* Experience with monitoring and dashboard tools such as Grafana.
* Experience working with machine vision systems and in a Scrum development team.
* Excellent spoken and written communication skills with experience writing reports and documentation.
In addition, the following would be an advantage:
* Experience in the inspection, security, or defense industries.
* Knowledge of networking and infrastructure.
* Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with others.
* A genuine interest in technology development and a keen interest in cutting-edge technologies and their applications.
* Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
* Experience developing pragmatic solutions and building flexible systems without over-engineering.
