Job summary
We are looking for a newly qualified with skills or an experienced Practice Nurse to join our award-winning practice.
1- Childhood Vaccination certificate & Experience
And
2- Smear training completion & Experience is mandatory to apply for this role .
The candidate will undertake all General practice chronic diseasemanagement as well as general practicenursing duties, including child / adult vaccinations, Basic wound care andcytology(These 3 accreditations and experience are Mandatory). Should be competent in all QuoF chronic disease reviews and immunisation

Ideally we are looking for a candidate to work approximately 25 -30 hrs over 5 days Fairly FLEXIBLE - ideally PM sessions across main and branch sites Ample overtime to cover colleagues holidays available .
We would also welcome practice nurses with Non Medical prescribing certificate & minor ailments certificate to apply .
The practice has provided practice nurse VTS training in the past .

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate would have experience and skills in the following areas:
QuoF related Chronic Disease Management
Smear Cytology- a must
Removal of Sutures
ECGs
Venepuncture
Ear syringing
Routine immunisations / Childhood immunisation
Contraception
Knowledge of national and local guidelines with the ability to apply these to individual patients and set targets is essential.
We ask for experience in dealing with above holding a diploma as a minimum in each chronic disease is not expected but core knowledge and ability to asses follow up of stable patients based on QuoF requirement is a must.

Chronic Disease Management
Experience in Chronic Disease Management.
1. Asthma/COPD/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry
2. Hypertension Management
3. Knowledge of national and local guidelines with the ability to apply these to individual patients and set targets
4. Ability to support patients with lifestyle changes
Other Health Areas
5. Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
6. Cytology
7. Removal of Sutures
8. New Patient Medicals
9. Travel Clinic
10. ECGs
11. Venepuncture
12. Routine immunisations / Childhood immunisations
13. Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
14. Assisting GPs with minor surgery
15. Requesting pathology tests, for example blood tests ,urine culture, swabs
16. Contraception basic advice.
17. Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs as appropriate
Other tasks will include:
18. Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
19. Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
20. Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
21. Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
22. Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
23. At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
24. A duty to advise senior colleagues of potential problems or errors within a range of assigned tasks
25. Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
26. Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post

27. Registered first level nurse
