An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client’s team in Dunfermline. They are known for delivering high-quality, reliable products across various industries.
The Role
* Design and develop mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Support engineering activities, including requirements analysis, sales support, specification and design, manufacturing support, testing, and ongoing technical support.
* Contribute to new product development and improvements to existing systems.
* Perform calculations to support design and manufacturing requirements.
* Create and review CAD models and drawings (PTC Creo 8 and AutoCAD).
* Analyse customer requirements and provide technical input for sales and estimating.
* Write technical procedures and product manuals.
* Support prototype development and testing.
* Occasional travel for on-site support and troubleshooting.
The Candidate
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
* Experience in mechanical component design, particularly for steel fabrication and assembly.
* Knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as welding, machining, casting, and forging.
* Experience with manufacturing drawings in a production environment.
* Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
* Skills in 3D modelling, 2D drafting, and FEA (ANSYS Workbench).
* Working knowledge of Mathcad Prime 8.
* Strong computer skills (MS Office and relevant applications).
* Valid EU passport or UK work authorisation.
