Job Summary You will manage projects for the delivery of new buildings, renovations and demolitions from initial inception through to final completion and handover to Project Sponsor, users / occupiers and the Ports Asset Management and Maintenance Teams. You will be skilled in developing scopes of work from Clients requirements, briefing and managing design consultants and managing contractors to deliver the works through to operational status. You will lead projects through each stage of development through the Ports Governance process and manage delivery of the works in a live operational port environment. You will lead and manage projects adopting a collaborative approach between in-house specialists, external consultants and contractors, operational teams and multiple stakeholders across the port estate. Skills and Qualifications BSc/BEng (or above) in Construction Management/Building/Building Services or equivalent relevant discipline Project Management qualification from APM or alternative relevant professional organisation or demonstratable experience Proven extensive experience as a project manager for the design and construction of buildings Have a proven track record in: - Managing concurrent design and construction projects - Managing projects through the project life cycle from inception to completion - Working with Clients to produce effective scopes of works - Preparing Contract documents for Works and Site Information for pricing by Consultants and Contractors Producing work/product break down structures and producing and maintaining project programmes using MS Project Reporting project progress at regular intervals The effective management of project risk Fulfilling the role of Project Manager as defined under the NEC suite of contracts Management of project team members to deliver high performing projects Demonstratable understanding of CDM regulations and relevant Health & Safety Legislation Have a thorough understanding of Procurement of both services and construction works and a practical experience of undertaking of the Clients role under such Contracts Good user skills in MS Office 365 and MS Project Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle Benefits: 5 weeks annual leave bank holidays (pro rata) Generous contributory pension scheme Discretionary annual bonus scheme Private Health Care Life assurance Employee assistance programme 3rd party discounts Cycle to work scheme Benefits and reward platform Free Parking Employee volunteering scheme All offers of employment are subject to us obtaining satisfactory references (covering all education, training, employment and unemployment in the preceding 5 years) and there will be a pre-employment medical including a Drug and Alcohol test.
