Description Job Description Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a highly committed team that aims to improve public services by reducing avoidable infection in healthcare settings? This is an exciting opportunity join the HCAI Team within the HCAI and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Policy Unit within Chief Nursing Officer’s Directorate (CNOD). You will be working within a supportive environment to deliver priorities relating to the HCAI Strategy (2023-2025) and the Infection Prevention Services: Workforce Strategic Plan (2022-2024), both of which feed into Scotland’s commitments under the UK AMR National Action Plan and exploring the development of a new IPC Strategy. The policy areas regularly attract a high level of Ministerial, media and public interest. Responsibilities • Undertake correspondence tasks including MiCases, PQs and FOIs. • Support with drafting and preparation of official documents (including guidance, publications). • Aid senior colleagues with briefing and advice for Ministers and senior officials such as the CNO by researching information and providing data. • Take responsibility for reporting of respiratory and non-respiratory infection incidents and outbreaks in NHS Scotland each week to CNO and other interested parties. • Provide assistance to the policy team in relation to collection and management of evidence and responses for both of the COVID Inquiries, Scottish Hospitals Inquiry and Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service investigation. • Assist with participation and engagement with stakeholders including providing secretariat support. • Support policy design and development (incl. strategy, appraisal, impact assessment, monitoring, evaluation etc) to effectively reduce the incidence of HCAI in Scotland. • Help facilitate collaboration with other areas within government to progress policy outcomes. • Provide support for senior colleagues in project management to deliver the HCAI Strategy, intended IPC Strategy etc. Responsibilities Success Profile Success profiles are specific to each job and they include the mix of skills, experience and behaviours candidates will be assessed on.
