Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker (RSW)
Salary: £11.00 – £16.00 per hour based on shift pattern

As an RSW, you will be responsible for assisting and supporting young people in their day to day. You will attend to their practical, physical, and emotional needs, acting as a role model to help them work through their difficulties to reach their goals and ambitions.
Some of the duties could include:
* High quality of care and support for children and young people.
* Working within the guidelines from the 1989 Children’s Act, National Minimum Standards, Every Child Matters, and other relevant legislation.
* Create a nurturing, supportive and caring environment in which children feel safe and secure.
* Establish positive relationships with children and young people.
* Ensure care plans are followed and up to date.
* Attending to practical childcare matters such as cooking, cleaning, and general maintenance around the home.
* Act as key worker for young people to ensure plans are met.
* Provide emotional support during times of difficulty or stress.
* Encourage young people to achieve their goals.
* Support educational needs and extracurricular activities, including classroom support if needed.
* Act as an advocate at meetings regarding the young person.
* Manage challenging behaviour.

Some of the skills/requirements include:
