Overview
The Renewables Department is seeking a renewables development specialist to lead the planning and development of new renewables business ventures and investments. The role includes leading and supporting mergers & acquisitions, JV development, and 3rd Party transactions for Renewable projects for Saudi Aramco. The candidate should be independently capable of conducting job activities with minimal direction and supervision.
The candidate will work within the Renewable Investments Division, focusing on identifying opportunities for Saudi Aramco facilities and affiliates, expansion of renewable business, achieving revenue targets as set by management, upfront business case development, high-level feasibility studies, identifying strategic alignment, and coordinating with technical teams for detailed site-specific engineering analysis for residential, commercial, and industrial scales for different facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Initiate, develop & expand the Company’s renewable business
* Achieve revenue targets set by the Management
* Support strategy development and long-term plans to deploy renewable applications
* Prepare periodical progress reports for management
* Lead due diligence for M&A transactions related to renewable projects
* Manage all aspects of transaction execution including management of the overall project such as selecting, onboarding, and working with a full team of advisors.
* Manage overall stakeholder management including working with internal organizations, consultants, and potential partner(s).
* Ensure compliance to process stage gates and approvals, approve contract payments and variations within limit, provide administrative direction and personnel management to all assigned Business Development Analysts, and perform other miscellaneous duties as directed.
* Evaluate transaction proposals and subsequently manage the execution of such projects.
* Actively involved in the valuation, due diligence, negotiations, and structuring of transactions from origination to sign and closing, conducting detailed due diligence on different aspects of target companies.
* Identification of project risks, analysis, and recommendation of mitigation measures
* Lead the development of Power Purchase Agreements with developers of renewable projects
* Support structuring of binding agreements such as Shareholders Agreement, Project Development Agreement, O&M Agreement, and Equity Subscription & Retention Agreement
* Support structuring and negotiation of deals to achieve final deal closure
* Review & consult on all transaction documents
* Work with internal corporate stakeholders to achieve desired results of transactions
* Ensure knowledge transfer through mentorship of young talent
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or in Business. MBA Degree or CFA is preferable.
* Minimum (12) years of experience in business development and transactions
* Preference will be given to candidates with investment banking or consulting background including Big4 to supplement experience gained from an energy company.
* Strong background in renewable project development, deal structuring, stakeholder management, financial modeling, bankability, and valuations.
* Understanding of operational and development business model for Independent power producers and developers within the renewable sector
* Excellent command of spoken and written English. Preference will be given to candidates that have a demonstrable track record of delivering board-level presentations
* Project management skills
* Computer & MS Office proficient
