GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker in Ringwood to provide essential care and assistance to students with physical, learning, or developmental disabilities. As a Disability Support Worker, you will work closely with students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and daily activities. You will play a key role in promoting their independence, confidence, and well-being within an educational setting.
What you have to do as a Disability Support Worker:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with disabilities.
* Assist with mobility, communication, and classroom participation.
* Implement personalised learning and care plans tailored to individual needs.
* Support students in developing independence and social skills.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and healthcare professionals.
* Encourage engagement in educational and recreational activities.
* Assist with personal care when necessary, ensuring dignity and respect.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and families.
* Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
* Uphold safeguarding and health and safety policies at all times.
What we need from a Disability Support Worker:
* Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker or care role for children with special needs and disabilities is preferred.
* A relevant qualification in education, psychology, childcare, or special educational needs is beneficial.
* A compassionate and patient approach to working with individuals with disabilities.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to adapt to different student needs and learning styles.
