This is not business as usual. Be part of the project team that will transform our payroll. If you have experienced the challenges and pain of a manual payroll process (think spreadsheets with many tabs, manual data checking, etc) but also know what good looks like and how to get there, then this could be the role for you. (should you miss the buzz and satisfaction of making a real difference and want to do it all again…). You will be part of a project team (finance, HR and technology) that delivers our new payroll solution – we are ideally looking for someone who has been there and done it, has learned the lessons and can provide insight and input into what our new systems, processes, should be, and help get us there to reap the benefits. Note, this would be a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week in our Abingdon Head Office. We have circa 750 employees, a mix of general head office support functions, engineering teams that work shifts and earn overtime, as well as multiple teams that earn commissions. It adds up to a lively monthly payroll, that also includes all the usual duties you would expect for a business of this size. As we transition, we will of course need to run our current payroll process. This will require advanced Excel knowledge and experience. We would love to support and match someone’s aspirations to grow and expand their basic accounting knowledge, where they get involved in the end-to-end payroll lifecycle, be our subject expert on all things NI, Taxable returns, HMRC compliance, as well as topics such as pension contributions and administration. CIPP qualifications would be great, plus we would be happy to provide further study support to help you achieve your ambitions. If you love using your advanced excel skills to run an “as is” payroll process but know there is a better way and want to be part of a team that researches, evaluates, and implements a new “to be” process, then please apply now.
