A leading materials testing laboratory based in Ledbury is seeking a Lab Operations Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day laboratory services, driving business growth and ensuring technical excellence. This is a key leadership role, focused on managing operations, enhancing quality standards, and expanding external testing revenue. Laboratory Operations Manager responsibilities: Business Growth & Revenue: Own and drive revenue targets for IncoTest’s external testing services. Identify opportunities to expand external revenue streams. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers. Laboratory Operations & Quality: Take overall responsibility for the laboratory’s technical operations. Implement and maintain ISO/IEC 17025 and Nadcap Materials Testing standards. Continuously improve services for internal and external customers. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Lead and manage a diverse technical team. Work closely with senior leadership, including the Technical Director, Head of Quality, and Operations Director. Engage with accreditation bodies and key industry partners. Laboratory Operations Manager requirements: Education & Expertise: Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Engineering (preferred). Strong background in metals/materials testing. Experience in the aerospace or metals production industry is beneficial. Leadership & Commercial Acumen: Proven experience managing a large technical team. Ability to balance technical oversight with commercial strategy. Strong problem-solving skills, able to provide clear solutions in a fast-paced environment. Industry & Quality Standards: Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and Nadcap accreditation. Understanding of Ni alloys or other major alloy systems is a plus.
