Mechanical Construction Engineer
Certain Advantage are recruiting on behalf of an important nuclear construction project in Cumbria for a Mechanical Construction Engineer to start ASAP initially until May 2025.
This is a temporary contract.
The role
You'll be responsible for the management and coordination of all the elements of mechanical plant and equipment installation, liaising with Logistics Team and Supply Chain to ensure safe and efficient delivery of equipment and materials to site.
1. Processing isometrics and drawings in accordance with project requirements and issuing construction packages to the installation supervisors including availability of approved RAMS, permits and lifting plans.
2. Supporting the development of look-ahead's based on the programme and milestones.
3. Coordinating plant and equipment installation, inclusive of sub-contract activities and ensuring all scaffolding and tools are readily available.
4. Reviewing and reporting the weekly progress against the programme with the M, E & I Installation Manager.
Experience required
1. Experience of fulfilling a mechanical engineering role on Construction projects.
2. Previous experience of project delivery on a nuclear licenced site.
3. Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering, (minimum HNC).
4. Good knowledge of Mech Engineering practices and ability to follow drawings and specifications.
5. IOSH Managing Safely.
6. Holder of a valid competency card.
7. Proven ability to manage a small team of supervisors and blue collar ops and sub-contractors.
Desirable
1. Previous experience of working with Shield Doors, Gamma gates and Kuka robot equipment.
2. Previous experience working on the installation of bogey & rail systems in a nuclear environment.
3. Previous experience of working with and on EOTC Cranes.
