Client: My client has established themselves as one of the UK’s premier M&E contractors. Following their formation almost 75 years ago, they have grown their turnover to over £200m per annum. The business boasts an envious track record of delivering some of the UK’s and London’s landmark projects.
Typically the specialise in major shell and core projects in sectors such as; commercial offices, healthcare, pharmaceutical and education. Despite their size, this Tier 1 M&E Contractor has fantastic staff retention rates with a reputation for looking after their staff. They offer excellent exposure and internal training schemes with a hands-on approach to developing their staff.\n\nRole: Contracts Manager\n\nThe successful candidate will report into a project manager and will be responsible for assisting with the management of projects from £10m - £50m Mechanical value.\n\nRole/Responsibilities:\n\n * Involvement in estimating from build ability prospective and mid bid meetings.\n\n * Tender review/validation\n\n * Upfront engineering – looking at high level procurement and design.\n\n * Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)\n\n * Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project\n\n * Development of teams – including recruitment of PM’s, Engineers and Site Managers and staff development\n\n * Value Engineering where applicable\n\n * All deliverables on a project\n\n * Client relationship management – Main contractor, MEP consultant, professional team downstream to subcontractors)\n\n * Overall lead – Technically, commercially, operationally\n\n * Overseeing multiple projects\n\nThe ideal candidate:\n\n * Experience managing projects to a minimum of £10m M&E value\n\n * Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Multiplex, Mace, Lend Lease and Kier.\n\n * The candidate will show longevity in previous employment\n\n * Must be technically astute and a good people manager\n\nIn return they offer:\n\n * A healthy pipeline of work\n\n * The opportunity to move up the management ladder\n\n * A very competitive basic salary and an excellent bonus scheme
