Leicestershire Library Service are seeking applications for a Mobile Library Driver/ Assistant. This is a permanent full-time position of 37 hours per week based at Lutterworth Library.
About the Role
The successful applicant will deliver valuable library services to communities across Leicestershire. This role involves both driving a mobile library vehicle and delivering excellent customer service at the different mobile stops.
The position involves driving predetermined routes in mostly rural villages across Leicestershire, including visits to schools, nurseries and pre-schools and regular village/town locations keeping to a set timetable.
You will be delivering a library service from the vehicle and responding to customer queries.
The post holder will also require a current valid driving license to drive a vehicle up to 7.5 tonnes. A driver Certificate of Professional Competence is desirable but not essential as training can be given. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
About You
* Competent and confident with driving large vehicles in both urban and rural settings. A C1 entitlement to drive vehicles up to 7.5t is necessary to drive our Mobile Libraries
* Able to create a friendly and welcoming environment for a diverse range of customers
* Confident in using IT (training will be given on specific library systems)
* Excellent at multi-tasking, efficient, happy to work under pressure & confident with working alone on a Mobile Library
* Passionate about what public libraries offer, and able to promote our services
* Library experience is desirable, but we also welcome candidates who have demonstrated exceptional customer service elsewhere
Please note library work can be physically demanding.
