As HCA you will be supporting people attending the unit who be offered a dedicated, personal space which will include a reclining chair, chair side locker and curtains which can be drawn to increase privacy. The Haven will respond flexibly to all referrals and ensure that all decision making will consider the best interests of the service user at all times and your role will be to support the service user and record observations and report any changes to senior staff. Our aim is to support mental health pathways across the wider health system in Sussex and within the Trust to reduce hospital admission where a community-based alternative could be provided. The Haven is a mixed area accepting both male and female service users and, whilst this unit is not an inpatient facility, the team will need to consider how it will ensure that this mixed sex environment is managed and the needs and safety of the people using the service can be maintained. All staff will work to ensure that the privacy and dignity is maintained for people while they are under the care of the clinical team at The Haven. This is varied and rewarding role supporting people in our local area with their mental health needs. The team work shifts over 24 hours, 7 days per week and you will be part of this shift pattern of 07:00- 19:30 or 19:00 - 07:30 hours.
