Contract Details
- Contract Type: Temporary
- Working Pattern: Full Time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Location: South West London office, HYBRID
- Hourly Rate: £18 p/h PAYE - £23.28 p/h umbrella (increases after 12 weeks to £24.17 p/h umbrella)

Responsibilities:
As a Homeless Triage Officer, you will:
5. Conduct pre-assessment interviews to provide advice and assistance to individuals in housing need or at risk of homelessness
6. Assess homeless individuals in person, ensuring necessary documentation is provided
7. Provide comprehensive advice on various housing options and tenancy rights
8. Conduct initial assessments to determine eligibility and identify homelessness
9. Offer advice and assistance to prevent homelessness, including online housing options and referrals
10. Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and advice given
11. Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to deliver effective solutions
12. Stay up to date with relevant legislation and policies pertaining to homelessness and housing
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
13. Working knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act and Part VII of the Housing Act
14. Detailed knowledge of housing benefit, council tax benefit, security tenure, homelessness advice, and case management
15. Experience in dealing with customers both in person and through various communication channels
16. Previous experience in housing advice or homelessness services
17. Strong organisational and time management skills
18. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
19. Proficient in using IT applications for data processing and management
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
20. Familiarity with welfare benefits and domestic abuse services
21. Checking Section 21 validity
22. Additional training or certifications in housing-related fields
