Opportunity for a Senior Planner to join our Life Science Team in Oxford.
The Senior Planner is responsible to develop the baseline contract programme which includes design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the preparation of a construction (target) programme highlighting areas of improvement against the contract programme.
2. Developing tendering programmes and validating these with the supply chain including preparation of settlement information.
3. All programmes to be fully logic linked which generate a robust critical path and subsequent float paths and be able to analysis these.
4. Be able to plan from first principles (Developing own logic, assessing quantum of work, calculating periods and resource loading).
5. Be able to prepare sequence sketches and ‘mark ups’ for logistics including planning workbooks to support the ‘bases’ of the programme.
6. Development and or supporting the development of 4D programmes desirable.
7. Engage with the supply chain to develop / validate the project programme with regards to design, lead-in’s, construction periods, plant & labour requirements.
8. Be aware of risk from H&S risk, commercial risk, quality, and time risk. Documenting Programme risk.
9. Include appropriate hold points for inspections and quality sign offs.
10. Identify Opportunities and create conditions to capitalise on these.
11. Be familiar with different forms of contract including NEC and make clear provisions for Time Risk Allowance (TRA) and Terminal Float.
12. Maintain electronic files and administration of planning and programme documents to facilitate retrieval as required. Using the common data environment (CDE)
13. Contract and tender programmes files produced to a high standard and be able to pass a (CIOB or DCMA quality check).
Experience:
14. Successful record of working with clients, contractors and other stakeholders on live construction projects.
15. Experience of working within a team.
16. Extensive knowledge of UK and EU legal framework, in particular contract management.
17. Experience managing & developing junior planner
18. Experience in Laboratory Constructions and high-tech manufacturing facilities desirable.
19. Effective communication and people skills required.
20. Excellent IT skills.
21. Experience in Asta Power Project & Primavera P6
Qualifications:
22. Relevant Degree or diploma
23. Qualifications in construction management
24. Certification for use of planning and programme software desirable
25. Membership of relevant professional body, where applicable desirable.
26. Advanced Asta Powerproject Training – Progress Analysis & S-curve reporting.
27. Advanced Primavera P6 Training Managing costs & resource managing People Training.
28. Advanced contract awareness – Understanding JCT and NEC forms of contract.
29. Basic BIM training and understanding of the common data environment
