Position Overview: The Business Analyst will play a key role in supporting ASEL across multiple business verticals by identifying data trends, optimising operational efficiencies, and ensuring accurate and competitive pricing strategies. ASEL operates in a data-rich environment, and this role will be crucial in transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that drive strategic improvements. The ideal candidate will analyse business performance, review market trends, and support financial modelling to enhance overall operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities & Requirements
* Data Analysis & Trend Identification: Analyse data across various business units to identify trends and generate insights that enhance operational efficiencies. Some examples may include:
o Assess call volumes within the service business to understand the causes of repeat failures and inform strategic improvements.
o Evaluate engineer productivity, travel time, and material expenditure to optimise performance and operations.
* Operational Performance & Cost Control: Develop meaningful reports to track key operational metrics, such as fuel usage, fleet vehicle efficiency, and material costs, to identify areas for cost savings.
* Market Data & Benchmarking: Conduct market research and benchmarking analysis to ensure ASEL’s services are competitively priced.
* Financial Modelling: Support the development and refinement of financial models to ensure accurate cost allocation, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis.
* Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in business operations and recommend process enhancements to improve productivity and reduce waste.
Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with stakeholders across different business units to present data-driven recommendations and support decision-making.
Person Specification:
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree with relevance to business, data analytics, finance, economics, or a related field.
* Experience:
o Some experience in business analysis, data analysis, or financial modelling.
o Strong background in working with large datasets to identify trends and inform strategy.
o Experience in operational performance analysis, cost control, and process improvement.
o Exposure to market research and competitive benchmarking is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
* Data Interpretation: Strong analytical skills to derive meaningful insights from complex data sets.
* Technical Proficiency: Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Python, or similar).
* Financial Acumen: General understanding of financial modelling and pricing strategies to support business decisions.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present findings clearly and persuasively.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to evaluate business challenges and provide data-driven solutions.
