About Admiral Money
Admiral Money is an exciting, new division of Admiral Group. We have the freedom and innovation of a small startup with the security of a large parent company, Admiral.
The journey started when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. We went on to be the first direct-to-consumer car finance provider in December 2017. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and have some exciting plans for the future.
We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in, and are ready for a challenge to help us achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.
About the Role
This brand-new role involves helping to shape and develop our recoveries function for both Unsecured Personal Loans and Car Finance agreements, taking a lead in the day-to-day running of the team whilst we transition to a new way of working. The successful candidate will be able to quickly fit into a fast-moving, innovative, and high-profile environment, and will be required to hit the ground running. The successful candidate will be given responsibility, empowerment, and scope to set direction and lead the way, whilst very much retaining a hands-on approach.
The ideal candidate will have experience in Insolvency, Debt Management, and Debt Outsourcing.
Responsibilities
* Leading by example in supporting the team to manage the day-to-day workload.
* Using your strong leadership skills to lead a small team and maintain a positive working environment.
* Complete appraisals, 1-2-1’s, team meeting/training sessions, and deliver regular coaching & feedback sessions.
* Represent Collections in relevant internal/external forums and update key stakeholders on the team’s activities and performance.
* Liaising with external companies including Debt Collection Agents, Solicitor firms, Debt Charities, Debt Sale Companies, and system providers.
* Supporting the wider Collections Strategy Team to drive changes, enhancements, improvements, and documenting processes.
* Prioritise workloads and analyse team’s productivity including conducting quality checking.
* Contribute positively to the wider Collections management team, ensuring the department provides a happy, positive, and supportive working environment for staff.
* Deputising for the Collections Strategy Manager where needed.
Requirements
* Have experience in developing a team in a Recoveries function in a Financial Services company (including experience of working with structured debt e.g. IVA, DMP’s, and Bankruptcies).
* Have the confidence to build new and challenge existing work practices to ensure we are continuously improving as a team.
* A strong focus on quality, be receptive to feedback, and effective when giving feedback to others.
* Experience with collaborating with people from all levels across an organisation.
* Understanding of the financial services regulatory landscape and impact this may have upon our collections operation.
