We are looking for an Anti-Social Behaviour Officerto join our sector leading ASB service in our Housing team here at Southern Housing.
This is a hybrid role based at our offices in Sussexat least 2 days a week. It is offered on a fixed term contract/secondment opportunity until 31st November 2025.
As part of a regional team in the Housing Directorate and reporting to the ASB Manager, youll deliver excellent service to residents affected by ASB. On a duty basis, youll triage new ASB reports, quickly assess the situation and agree an action plan to investigate, manage risks, and support those affected. Youll manage a varied ASB caseload, investigate reported incidents, evaluate the evidence, and take appropriate action (including legal remedies) to stop further incidents. Youll also have the opportunity to feedback into neighbourhood strategies to tackle ASB.
Responsibilities include:
* Completing risk assessments and using your professional judgment to dynamically assess situations and agreed actions to tackle ASB and support complainants throughout the life of an ASB case (including referrals to support agencies and security measures).
* Investigating reports of nuisance, harassment, and anti-social behaviour (and occasionally domestic abuse), made by or about residents or others and identify the appropriate action to be taken in line with Southern Housings policy and procedure.
* Deciding on additional measures for evidence gathering, such as sound recording and CCTV.
* Maintaining high standards of case management and providing support to teams through supervision on casework and procedures.
* Keeping meticulous records of all actions, discussions, and decisions, so youre always able to evidence procedural compliance.
What youll need:
* Thorough experience of ASB case management in a social housing environment.
* Excellent communication with the ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively using various communication channels.
* Teamwork skills to deliver excellent service in a challenging environment.
* Working experience of equality and diversity issues, including the completion of Equality Impact Assessments on proposed enforcement action.
* Professional curiosity to identify residents with support needs.
* Ability to manage resilience in a challenging operating environment.
