Job summary Specialist Occupational Therapist: Community Neuro Rehabilitation Service including; Early Supported Discharge for Stroke and Specialist Neurological Rehabilitation Outreach service This post provides an exciting opportunity to work in the established CLCH Community Neuro Rehabilitation Service in the borough of Westminster. The post holder will be a member of the dynamic multi-disciplinary community neuro rehab service, working with a mixed caseload of clients across 3 core pathways. This includes the Early Supported Discharge service for stroke, the level 2 Specialist Neurological Outreach Rehabilitation Service (in partnership with Imperial) and the Community Neurological Rehabilitation Service. These innovative neuro rehab pathways provides client - centred rehabilitation for Westminster residents within their homes, clinic and the wider community. The post is well supported by a Clinical Lead OT and Team lead with supervision by a highly specialist Neuro OT within the team. There is a firm commitment to continuing professional development including; participation in research, access to external training, a comprehensive in-service training programme, regular supervision and joint working opportunities. Main duties of the job Applicants should have experience in the assessment and treatment of stroke and other neurological conditions. You will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of individuals to promote their independence and support long-term management.You should have excellent communications skills and empathy in order to work with a varied client group and to communicate complex needs across a number of agencies. You should have high level organisational skills, a commitment to robust multi-disciplinary working and an understanding of the importance of working alongside our core partners across health and social care and the third sector. Documented evidence of professional development and reflective practice in relevant aspects of neurological rehabilitation e.g. attendance at in-service training sessions, reflective practice Desirable Attendance at relevant post-graduate neurological training courses e.g. spasticity management, splinting, cognition and perceptual assessment, fatigue management Experience of working in a neurological rehabilitation setting at band 6 level.
