About the role
This role plays a critical part in AfC's delivery of SEND services. Our SEND Local Offer (a statutory service) website is our digital shop window and provides a wide range of information and easy access to clear and up-to-date information about SEND services in Kingston and Richmond.
Responsibilities will include:
* The postholder will gather and manage service information, manage and continuously develop the SEND local Offer website, create accessible content, and engage with the community to ensure their voices shape how information is shared.
* They will also monitor and improve communication quality, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, and handle feedback in line with council guidelines while upholding key policies on safety, data protection, and equality.
* The postholder will also support with promoting co-production and engagement with families through the line management of two SEND Parental Engagement Officers. You will be expected to work across Kingston and Richmond attending events in the community to raise awareness about the local offer, and respond to feedback about improvements to its content.
About you
We seek a highly motivated individual with a degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, coupled with a strong understanding of children's services SEND legislation and digital accessibility. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional digital communication skills, proven experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership building, and a passion for advocating for children and young people. This role requires a proactive leader capable of driving change, managing a team, and delivering impactful outcomes through collaborative approaches.
* Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation (Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice, Equalities Act 2010) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.
* Proven communication skills (written and verbal), and an ability to differentiate communication according to the various stakeholders that engage with the local offer.
* Proven experience in website CMS management and creating engaging digital content for diverse audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
* Experience in team leadership, performance management, and addressing equality and diversity issues.

Start dates: Achieving for Children have set start dates meaning successful candidates join on a set date in each month. Candidates are advised to prepare for this should a job offer be accepted to ensure eligible continuous service is not affected.
