Job overview
We are currently seeking a creative therapist Band 7 (Art, Play and Drama) to work with looked after children (CLA) in the Hull team. We would welcome applications from Band 6 creative therapists as a Band 6 to 7 development opportunity.
Our service provides therapeutic interventions to children and young people looked after, specializing in supporting individuals who have attachment difficulties and/or have experienced developmental trauma.
You will join a committed CLA Service within the Hull CAMHS team. This post will provide opportunities for professional development and personal growth. Successful applicants will have access to regular support from experienced Clinical Psychologists and supervision from Creative Therapists working within, and allied with, our service.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide advanced assessments and therapeutic interventions where required, within the scope of your professional registration.
2. To provide comprehensive written reports to the multidisciplinary team following assessment, consultation, and/or therapeutic intervention.
3. To contribute to complex decision making around therapeutic interventions for children, young people, and/or their carers.
4. To work autonomously and collaboratively within the MDT, providing consultation and support to other agencies/professionals such as local authority social workers.
5. To facilitate reflective practice sessions including formulation and contribute to systemic thinking within complex networks supporting children or young people who are looked after or are care leavers.
6. To contribute to service evaluation/audit and development work.
7. Utilizing effective communication skills to engage families and professionals, build collaborative relationships, and ensure their views are included.
8. Offering consultation with a particular focus on increasing understanding of children and young people, including working with foster carers, Social Workers, Residential staff, and direct work with children and young people.
9. Supporting the wider service in the application of trauma-informed practice.
10. The postholder will engage in specialist clinical and professional supervision relevant to the role and practice.
