About South London Coroner’s Court Coroners investigate certain deaths in their jurisdiction that are deemed to be unnatural, violent, or where the cause is unknown. The South London Coroner’s Court serves the four London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Croydon and Sutton, and Croydon Council is the lead authority and responsible for providing resources and staffing to support the Coroners and the running of the court. About the role Could you help support the South London Coroner’s Court to deliver its judicial duties in a role where no two days are the same? We are seeking to recruit a Resources Officer into this fast paced and diverse role in the South London Coroner’s Court administrative team. As a Resources Officer, you will play a key role in delivering the effective running of the Coroner’s Court as well as supporting Coroner’s Officers in obtaining information critical to the cases they are managing. This is a front facing role where you will support a wide range of people in writing, in person and by telephone. Your excellent customer service and communication skills will tie in with your ability to relate to people from backgrounds reflecting the diversity of the people who live across South London. We are looking for people who can make a difference to the lives of people who have lost family members, loved ones, or friends. This role requires the ability to deliver important services compassionately, whilst being personally emotionally resilient when dealing with residents at a very difficult time in their lives.
