Remote | Telford As QA Analysts, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of Asta Powerproject and its associated applications, using appropriate testing methodologies, and you will champion quality standards across the company by maintaining effective processes and procedures to support the development and testing lifecycle.

The Company’s software solutions are used throughout the building lifecycle from early planning and design stages through to construction, interior fit out, asset management and facilities management to support project management, project scheduling, cost estimation, visualisation, Building Information Modelling (BIM) and property management.
Role Purpose
* To help devise and maintain Quality Standards for Elecosoft's software products.
* To help devise and maintain procedures and methods for checking and measuring the quality of Elecosoft's software products.
* To ensure that Elecosoft's software products meet the set Quality Standards by implementing the set procedures.
* To help raise the level of awareness of quality issues within the Development teams and the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
* Implementation of Test Plans using the tools and methods available at the time.
* Raising of defects found within the defect tracking system.
* Checking of defects that have been claimed fixed and evaluate any correct behaviour claims.
* Production of Test Plans incorporating time estimates for carrying out testing and making sure these have the agreement of your manager.
* Production of detailed Test Scripts pulling information from Requirement, Specification and Test Plan documents (ideally before it becomes available for QA).
* Where appropriate, working closely with members of the Software Engineering team during the development process to ensure a higher quality product.
* Carrying out additional testing for Fast Track defects and any other instances where this may be required.
* Keeping record of time taken to plan and execute testing and entering this into a timesheet to maintain the working schedule.
* Notifying the QA Team Lead as soon as any work item has, or looks likely to, overrun its current time or cost estimate.
* Attending meetings as and when requested, as promptly as requested.
* When required, meeting with colleagues in Technical Support to gain an awareness of current problems and their relative importance and help maintain good communications between Technical Support and Development. Where follow-up action is required notifying those concerned in Development.
* Liaising with other members of the Company where necessary to effectively carry out the requirements of the position.
* Complying with requests from QA Team Lead regarding allocation of work.
* Complying with all reasonable requests from QA Team Lead on the introduction of or amendments to working practices designed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.
* Striving to maintain a good working relationship between QA, SE and Documentation teams.
Skills/ Prerequisites:
Essential:
* A good standard of advanced education.
* Practical experience of working within a structured testing environment.
* Experience of testing desktop and web applications.
* Demonstrable attention to detail, evidencing an accurate and methodical approach.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Excellent IT skills, especially all Microsoft Office products.
Desirable:
* Experience of mobile testing.
Qualifications:
* A software testing qualification, preferably ISTQB certificate in Software Testing.
* A technical qualification such as a BSc/MSc degree (or equivalent) in a technical discipline.
Communication/ Relationships:
This role will require liaison with both Software Engineering, Documentation and Technical Support colleagues.
Decision Making
The candidate will be required to decide on the most appropriate tools and methods to validate the quality of a software change.

Working Hours and Location:
The normal working hours are 37.5 hours per week. From time to time, you may be required to work additional hours to fully perform your job in accordance with the needs of the business.
The role may involve travel to offices, clients' offices, and other locations as necessary in line with the needs of the business.
