Job Description KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Oversight of Customs Compliance processes for the Largest Aircraft Engine Service Facility within a global business - Ownership of maintaining and running audit process of AEO and IP Authorisations - Management of import and export processes within the site for a Global Supply Chain, identifying areas of risk to the business. Including investigation of compliance defects and leading corrective actions to closure. - Manage direct reports and maintain internal team processes and ongoing training. - Providing a central contact/advice point for internal customers, suppliers/partners, and sharing information to enable others to fulfil their role and build their understanding of customs targets and objectives. - Deal with and adapt to a variable, complex, and regularly changing customs environment, and the processes within Brokerage, Forwarding and Courier services to manage this. - Manage the classification and valuation of goods process to ensure accurate and consistent customs declarations in line with HMRC and global policies. - Understand and manage VAT and duty import costs, working closely with the Global VAT leader. - Provide technical customs advice and guidance to Programme teams to ensure compliance with internal corporate policies and procedures. This will include advising the internal business of the most appropriate and valid way to manage imports of GE owned material, Customer material and repairs. - Oversee Monitoring of customs entries to ensure freight agents have imported/exported goods correctly, and request amendments where required. - Process internal reports and ensure record keeping requirements are completed compliantly and in line with HMRC regulations. - Support and lead internal training needs to ensure processes and work instructions are followed. - Maintain knowledge of and stay current on regulatory changes and Solid understanding of required documentation such as commercial invoices. - Represent the company in discussions with local customs authorities and manage any customs audits, ensuring accurate and timely data is provided where required. - Work with Customs and Transport organisation to execute global trade compliance policies and strategies. - Continuously update and refresh working technical knowledge of the ever-changing customs landscape. - Communicating and leading any changes in regulations and their implications to the relevant stakeholders - Reviewing and updating internal policies and SOPs in line with new and changing regulations.
