1:1 SEN Tutor
Location: Nottinghamshire (NG15)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Tutor to join our supportive team. The successful candidate will work closely with a student on a tailored programme, providing personalised academic support and promoting their emotional and social development.
As a 1:1 SEN Tutor, you will be responsible for adapting teaching methods to suit the student’s individual learning needs, supporting them to reach their full potential in a positive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one tutoring for a student with specific learning needs.
* Develop personalised lesson plans and resources to support the student’s learning and development.
* Assist with academic subjects, focusing on the student’s strengths and areas for improvement.
* Monitor and track the student’s progress, making adjustments to teaching methods as required.
* Build a strong, trusting relationship with the student to support their emotional and social well-being.
* Communicate regularly with other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to the student’s development.
* Ensure the student feels confident, motivated, and engaged in their learning process.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
* A relevant qualification in education (e.g., PGCE, teaching assistant qualification, or SEN-specific qualification).
* A strong understanding of different learning difficulties and strategies for supporting SEN students.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with students and their families.
* Patience, empathy, and adaptability.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
