An opportunity has risen in the Respiratory Department for a Lead Respiratory Specialist Nurse. The Respiratory Nurses offer a full range of support managing patients with long-term respiratory conditions, including COPD, Domiciliary NIV, TB, Sleep Apnea, Asthma, ILD, Smoking Cessation, and Lung Cancer. The post holder will provide expert clinical leadership for Respiratory Specialist nursing teams to ensure a high standard of patient care, providing support and supervision as required. They will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of care pathways for patients with long-term respiratory conditions. The post holder will line manage Respiratory Specialist nurses, including recruitment, appraisals, supervisions, roster management, clinical outcomes, quality indicators, and patient satisfaction to drive continuous improvement. They will ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements, including infection control and patient safety standards. The post-holder will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care in liaison with the Respiratory Physicians and multi-disciplinary teams to improve the care of patients with COPD/Domiciliary NIV needs. They will provide clinical expertise in the assessment, implementation, and monitoring of COPD/Domiciliary NIV patients and work with Respiratory Clinicians to agree on patient protocols to ensure best practice.

They will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of care pathways for patients with respiratory conditions.
