Job overview Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) is a ‘broad umbrella term used to describe a group of children and young people who have difficulties in attending school due to emotional factors, often resulting in broken patterns of absence from school.’ We are seeking an EBSA Support Worker to work with any of our students who struggle to come to school, perhaps due to a lack of confidence, which can lead to anxiety. Through a nurturing supportive environment, your role will be to build confidence and aspirations so they can eventually take a full part in school life. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and hard-working, with energy, drive, and passion. You will work under the guidance of the Assistant Headteacher, Behaviour and Culture to provide support to address the needs of individuals or small groups of students who may require specific help to overcome barriers to learning.
