IT Asset Manager – OUTSIDE IR35 – SC CLEARANCE REQUIRED Start date: ASAP Duration: 12 Months Location: 2 days per month in Portsmouth rest of the month working from home Rate: £450 per day OUTSIDE IR35 SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED Summary: The IT Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimising the lifecycle management of the organisation's diverse IT asset portfolio, including hardware (such as computers, mobile devices, and peripherals) and software. The role involves ensuring the efficient acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of IT assets while adhering to organisational policies, budgetary constraints, and regulatory requirements. The IT Asset Manager plays a crucial role in maximising asset utilisation, minimising costs, and contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the organisation. Skills: Public sector experience (ideally MOD) Responsibilities: Asset Lifecycle Management Develop and implement comprehensive IT asset management strategies and policies. Oversee the procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement of IT assets in alignment with business needs and budget constraints. Establish and maintain accurate inventory records of all IT assets, including hardware and software. Optimise asset utilisation and reduce costs through effective lifecycle management and strategic planning. Compliance and Governance Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of IT assets to maintain data accuracy and identify discrepancies. Develop and enforce IT asset management policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance. Financial Management Collaborate with finance and other departments to forecast IT asset needs and manage budgets effectively. Analyse and report on the financial impact of IT asset management decisions and initiatives. Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement strategies to optimise asset-related expenses. Reporting and Analytics Develop and deliver comprehensive reports on asset status, utilisation, and performance to senior management and stakeholders. Utilise data analysis techniques to generate insights and support data-driven decision-making. Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to IT asset management. Process Improvement and Automation Continuously evaluate and improve IT asset management processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Explore and implement automation technologies to streamline asset management tasks and reduce manual effort.
